Happy Father’s Day

Today is a day our heart’s are tender toward our earthly Daddy. I hope that each of you have a dad as wonderful as mine. When I think about it, a father’s love is God’s love from heaven coming down and pouring right into the lives and hearts of His children. That is the way it is supposed to be. It’s difficult for a child to understand but eventually a girl takes the leap from her daddy’s arms right into the arms of her Heavenly Father when she becomes spiritually mature.

My dad has been instrumental and present in every significant event of my life, including my water baptism a few weeks ago. Thank you, sweet Daddy, for always being there.

God had much in mind when He established the family from the very beginning. There are two parents and it takes both of them, sometimes even more, to raise a family. The man was established as the provider and the woman as the encourager. Both have additional roles that support the family’s foundation. The most important part of a family is that they are rooted and grounded in God’s Word.

As you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith,
as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving. Colossians 2:6-7

There’s no grey area with God. When we know His Word–and it’s important to know all of it–we know what His expectations are of us. Take the time to study God’s Word with your family. There’s nothing more handsome than seeing a father love His family this way. Happy Father’s Day!
