I’m busy for the rest of my life…Session 1

I am busy for the rest of my life…
Teaching Series
Session 1, Point 1

I’m working on a new teaching series called, “I’m busy for the rest of my life.” I don’t know if you’re like me, but I really do feel like I AM busy for the rest of my life. There is a sign in the Ipic Theatre that reads:

I am busy for the rest of my life…
I am busy for the rest of my life…
I am busy for the rest of my life…

I don’t know if you are like me, but signs really do catch my attention. I guess advertising dollars are spent really well on me. I notice everything. I started writing a teaching series on it. If anything interests you that I have to say, I only have time to cover a small part of Point 1 today, I’d love to share this teaching with you at your church, small group gathering. You can contact me on the contact form of my website.

The first point I want to share with you today is what distracts me most personally. Other people………I get distracted by people and what they are NOT doing. Maybe you do too. As embarrassing as it is to say, I just think about how they could be doing things better that would enhance our relationship. That kind of thinking contaminates my soul and my feelings for them. I can’t love people the way they need to be loved, the way Christ wants me to love them. This brought me to the scripture about Mary and Martha in Luke 10:38-42 when Martha starts complaining about Mary, “WaWaWaWa” to Jesus. “She’s not helping me, etc. etc.” Mary was busy sitting at the feet of Jesus. Jesus said so sweetly to her, “Martha, Martha…..you’re missing the good part.” I can just hear Him saying that to me, (insert your name here) “MiMi, MiMi, you’re missing the best part! You’re missing the good part!

And I AM missing out on the good part of people when I am focusing on what they are NOT doing. I am missing out on seeing Jesus in them when I am focused on the negative aspect of relationship rather than the positive. Re-read Luke 10:38-42. I’d love to hear from you.

On the next blog, I’ll go to Point 2!
