Surprise Mail

Do you like receiving mail? Not email, but a tangible piece of mail, the old-fashioned written correspondence. My oldest daughter loves the mail. When she was little, she never understood why she did not receive any mail. I explained to her that in order to receive the kind of mail she was looking for, that she first had to send mail. That made sense to her. She still loves to collect the mail and scatter it all over the kitchen counter. It’s mainly advertisements and bills these days, but we are still enjoying Christmas cards and New Year’s cards. This morning I opened a piece of mail from Joyce Meyer Ministries and happily unfolded a small poster pictured above. If you haven’t noticed, my ministry is called Greater Than Ministries. The poster is a wonderful reminder that God’s Word is GREATER THAN all of things she listed below it. It’s time to continue to look forward to 2016 and all the great things God has in store for you every day. Through good times and bad times, He is there. He is greater than my past, circumstances, feelings, doubts and shortcomings, bad days and fears. Joyce even left a blank for your personal entry. I am not sure what mine is yet, but I know that God is greater than whatever it is. This year I will continue to ask God to use me in ministry in our community. Some of the things He has laid in front of me are time consuming, out of the way and may cause glitches in our schedule. I don’t think Jesus was always comfortable where He ministered. Just say YES to Him and don’t make excuses. I think He will bless our socks off!

An Ephesians 3:20 attitude is what we all need to have. Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.
